Are outdoor/ Greenhouse terps better than most indoor? 🌞

-Why do we shun the sun?!

– Proper maintenance, strain selection and a little luck can go a long way in a New England outdoor harvest!

-Growing for buddz or extracts? The strain selection before the season could be your biggest determining factor in your end product and results!

-Certain strains are beautiful, but should remain in original bud form. Not all frosty strains will translate to quality, high yielding solventless hash.

– Some strains finish earlier than others! Use this to your advantage if snow, rain or other elements get tough in your area later in the grow season.

– Spectrum matters in the light you provide for your plants! The sun is the gold standard as far as i’m concerned. It may be tough to control environmental variables in your outdoor grow, but the sun has produced superior Terps at a far more efficient rate than indoor cultivation. No electricity bill!

-How important is the harvesting process? CRUCIAL! You just took several months planning and tending your annual outdoor grow and now it comes down to the final harvest. Preserving all the tiny trichomes is what it comes down to! Keeping your processing space cool, ideally 60 or under and under 40 degrees if harvesting fresh frozen material. No RIP and tear.

-Manicuring each bud carefully is essential to preserving your trichomes as well. This means cutting away any fan leaf or green leaf that does not have any sugar. Leaving no stem showing and no 45° cuts so any stem will not pierce the wash bag when it’s time to wash your harvest for its resin.

-FRESH frozen. This doesn’t mean I’ll cut it today and finish tomorrow. This is all about dedication to bucking the whole plant you started to cut so all Terps and cannabinoids can be preserved to their fullest. Best representation of what was on the plant without any degradation from light, heat or oxidation.

Local biology helping in the grow process. Rain, endless soil for roots to stretch, air flow with light co2 supplementation, microbes, earth worms, local enzymes, all help in the growth process and help facilitate nutrients and adequate growth with the sun. In an optimal growth cycle, photosynthesis will be maximized and grow effortlessly. This results in increased nutritional density of the plants and a broader chance for terpenes and cannabinoids to be expressed uniquely per strain.

Lower operating costs and overhead means you have more flexibility in an ever changing marketplace.

We’ll do more discussions on specific spectrums the sun provides that some of the most high end HPS,CMH, or LED lights strive to replicate! What spectrum influences what type of growth? Importance? Using spectrum to your advantage, etc.

What strains are you guys growing this year?!🌱
